The Buddhist beliefs about the 4 Noble Truths and the 8-fold Noble Path form the foundation of a deeply profound philosophical doctrine with parallels and connections to other Asian philosophies. This episode explains what the Noble Truths are and how they can be achieved by following the 8-fold Noble Path.
Join in the discussion and answer the following questions:
How do these teachings resonate with your personal experiences?
What steps might you take towards a more mindful and ethical life?"
For myself, I think these teachings touch upon a search for a more holistic way of thinking about life and the world around me. I am not saying I am going to become a Buddhist but the ideas put forward in the 4 Noble Truths certainly resonate deeply within me and it is something I am going to explore more seriously for my own interest.
In terms of taking a step toward a more mindful and ethical life, it's interesting because for the last few years I feel I have been on that journey already, striving to become a better version of me- my new book 'You 2.0: Build Yourself Better' is an attempt to put in place ideas and strategies to conduct business in a more holistic way whilst at the same time becoming a better leader, manager and indeed human being! But the 8-fold Noble Path may well give me a simple framework to follow now in my personal life. Something for me to think on!
