Radio Gaga.

Okay, so I'm a writer and presenter, what on earth am I doing having fun on the radio??? You'd be surprised. Keep coming back to this page to find out more.

ROCK DJ: THE BARON'S ROCK SHOW

Starting off as a bit of fun my association with the community radio station RadioBarnsley has grown to become a serious personal project in its own right. Co-owner of  Crossfire Radio, a new internet station that has ambitious plans to grow into a station covering special interests, I hit the airwaves every week in my Darren The Baron persona.

Every Wednesday, between 7pm and 10pm I host The Baron's Rock Show, co-host a new monthly "Rock Showcase" show on the 2nd Saturday of every month, as well as specials.

THE WEDNESDAY SUPPLEMENT

The Supplement is designed to be like a Sunday Newspaper, with comedy, serials, an eclectic mix of music and, significantly, commentary on topics ranging from items in the news, science, politics and business.

The TWS also has special theme shows, and brings in guests to discuss those themes.

For more information check out Crossfire Radio.

Now, I know what you're thinking: What has running a radio station and presenting shows on rock music got to do with being a writer, speaker and business advisor? You will be surprised! Check out my blog Why Being a Rock DJ is Good for Business for the full skinny.

SCHEDULE.

The schedule is as follows:

Wednesdays

3pm to 6.30pm The Wednesday Supplement

7pm to 10pm The Baron's Rock Show

By the way, the above picture is one of my favourite ever artists- the amazing Gabby Young. Gabby and the Other Animals are regulars on the TWS as well as other shows on Radio Barnsley and hopefully soon on Crossfire Radio too.

Totally unique, Gabby is the single most important reason why I fell in love with music again and without her I would not have become a broadcaster- nor would I probably have finished my first book! If you ever get the chance to see them live, you should go and enjoy one of the best gigs you'll ever see.
